Our story

Experience rooted
in the outdoors.

Outside the Box is a founder-led outdoor education resource brand, built on more than 15 years of professional experience. We help educators make learning beyond the classroom practical, meaningful and accessible.

Our focus brings together outdoor education, primary curriculum connections, SEMH and neuroinclusion. Every child deserves opportunities to explore and learn in ways that work for them.

We are developing educational resources for primary teachers, TAs, SEMH/SEND educators and alternative provisions. Clear preparation, flexible participation and meaningful curriculum links guide our approach.

Our teaching framework

The OUTSIDE
Method.

A developing seven-stage approach to inclusive outdoor learning. Use it to understand your learners, plan a meaningful experience and reflect on the next step.

This is our original educational framework. It is not a clinically validated intervention or an accredited qualification.

  1. Observe

Understand the learner, environment and starting point.

  2. Understand

Identify individual needs, interests, barriers and strengths.

  3. Take learning outside

Use the environment as a meaningful learning resource.

  4. Support

    Adapt activities, communication and expectations.

  5. Introduce challenges

Create opportunities for discovery, problem-solving and achievement.

  6. Develop

Build confidence, skills, relationships and independence.

  7. Evaluate

Recognise progress and use observations to inform next steps.

A wider world of possibilities for your next lesson.
